Keynote Day 2: Agilists for a Thrivable World

What is the larger global movement we’re part of, whether we recognize it or not? What is the vital and unique role Agilists can play in the transition humanity needs to make? What can this community - and each of us - contribute to avert catastrophe and help usher in a more thrivable world? Who are our potential allies? And what could we do next?

These are the questions Michelle Holliday will address in her thought-provoking keynote. Drawing on decades of research and real-world experience across multiple sectors, she’ll help make sense of major trends in the workplace and in the world. In particular, she’ll point to a shift from a mechanistic worldview to one grounded in thrivability, regenerative leadership and living systems principles – where agility rules the day. Most of all, she’ll spotlight the full scope of impact and influence available to the Agile community. And she’ll offer practical ways to live into this potential in your own context.

About the Speaker

MICHELLE HOLLIDAY is a visionary author, facilitator, consultant and researcher. For the past two decades, her work has centred around “thrivability” — a set of perspectives and practices based on an understanding of organisations and communities as dynamic living systems.

On this foundation, she supports pioneering, purpose-driven clients across a wide range of sectors, including tourism, agriculture, life sciences and education, to enable the transition to more regenerative systems and structures. Specifically, Michelle brings people of diverse perspectives together to uncover shared aspirations, tap into their collective intelligence, and allow more effective, innovative responses to emerge.

With a Master’s Degree in International Marketing, she brings a diverse experience base to this work. She spent the first part of her career in brand strategy, working internationally for Coca-Cola and H.J. Heinz. The second part of her career focused on employee engagement and organisational development, consulting for a range of organisations in Washington, DC. More recently, as part of the global Art of Hosting community of practice, she has designed and hosted hundreds of strategic conversations for clients and the public, from 5 to 500 people.

Now, after living in 19 cities, including Moscow, London, Paris, New York and a small town in Scotland, she combines brand strategy, employee and stakeholder engagement, hosting and more in her home base of Montréal and around the world.

Michelle's research and practical experience are brought together in the highly acclaimed book, The Age of Thrivability: Vital Perspectives and Practices for a Better World. She frequently delivers keynotes globally, including two popular TEDx talks, and she has written close to 100 articles on themes of thrivability and regeneration.
